Atticus is the first puppy we have purchased that was raised in the home by a breeder. There are so many things that were so simple this time around.
He easily acclimated to the new surroundings. He settled right in on his pillow (with his blanket & rope toy). There was no question where "his place was" and he slept very well with only a few yelps the first night. He showed curiosity about everything, but no fear. He learned "the bell" by the door by day #2, which he now rings to go out. (And sometimes rings and rings and rings it!) By 11 weeks he had limited accidents. He was super easy to house break. (Still the occasional - "I am too busy to stop" problem. Or his timing is off (rings the bell, but doesn't figure in the time for us to get there and let him out!)
And that isn't the best part. Our favorite is that he loves people and wants to be with them. He sought us out from day one. He wants to cuddle (unless he is busy being an Airedale), he is super relaxed with daily routines, including garage door opening, car noises, car rides, people in and out. (He loved the 5 grand kids 9 mo to 7 yrs). He is not the least concerned when you leave him or return...just takes it in stride. No stress or anxiety.
There are just so many things which has benefited both him and us due to the time spent with your family! Overall, he is very well balanced and self assured with out nervousness or issues. His temperament is perfect. He listens intently and learned what "no" meant right away - though will continue to test it for many months!!. What a delight!! We would highly recommend you and are willing to talk to anyone that has questions. Please thank your children for all the time they invested and for all the hugs and cuddles they shared. It so clearly made a difference!!
